Three Premier League players suspended

Jean Paul Farrugia of Sliema Wanderers and Tarxien Rainbows duo Sacha Borg and Ebiabowei Baker were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following Tuesday’s matches from the BOV Premier League.

Farrugia is therefore ruled out of Sliema’s next game against Hamrun while Borg and Baker will be unavailable for Tarxien for the clash against Mosta.

Meanwhile in Division 1, Joseph Farrugia (Marsa), Aidan Mizzi (Melita), Duane Bonnici (Naxxar), David Azzopardi (Rabat), Francesco Gusman (Senglea), Dario Zampa (Sirens) and Gianluca Sultana (Vittoriosa) were all banned for one match.

In Division 2, Mattia Mentosa (St. George’s) was suspended for three matches, Firas Aboulezz (Attard) for two matches while Jurgen Gauci (Attard), Jonathan Bugeja and Josef Cutajar (San Gwann), Edward Bugeja (Siggiewi) and Karl Sacco (Zabbar) were banned for one match.

Michael Theuma (Kirkop) was handed a two-match ban in Division 3 while Matthew Caruana and Ilyad Scicluna (Kirkop), Mark Psaila (Luqa), Kurt Farrugia (Mdina), Sacha Cortis (Mtarfa), Joseph Chetcuti (Sta. Venera), Giuseppe Barone and Sean Lee Lanzon (Ta’ Xbiex) were all suspended for one match.
