Xewkija Tigers regain top spot

Xewkija Tigers moved back on top the BOV Gozo Football League First Division as a goal by Claudio Frances on the 66th minute gave them a narrow win over SK Victoria Wanderers at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday.

In another match, Oratory Youths defeated Xaghra United 1-0 courtesy of a goal by Everton Felipe Da Silva Santos five minutes in the second half.

In the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, Gharb Rangers and St. Lawrence Spurs continue to share the top spot after winning on Saturday.

At the Kercem Ajax Stadium, Gharb Rangers defeated Qala Saints 2-0 thanks to goals by Dylan Bellotti on the 16th and Oliver Farrugia on the 48th.

St. Lawrence Spurs beat Zebbug Rovers 6-1. The Spurs took a four-goal lead thanks to Marlon Mamo on the 10th, Christopher Cauchi on the 27th, Jason Theuma on the 48th and Mohammed Senussi Telessi on the 75th. Josef Debrincat pulled one back on the 76th but Mohammed Senussi Telessi and Charlon Tabone increased the lead with goals on the 85th and 86th.

Sunday Baala scored four as Sannat Lions defeated Munxar Falcons 4-0. Baala scored on the 7th, 12th, 55th and 89th.

Last week, Qala Saints beat Sannat Lions 2-0 thanks to goals by John Rapa on the 33rd and a penalty by Dario Zamora on the 69th.

Meanwhile Victoria Hotspurs and Kercem Ajax secured a place in the semi-finals of the GFA Cup on Wednesday.
