Champions Zejtun Corinthians registered a most comfortable 5-0 win over Mellieha at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in one of the final matches from the BOV Second Division on Sunday to condemn Mellieha to playing in Division 3 next season along with Ghaxaq.

Adrian Carabott opened the score on the 14th minute and Alan Tabone doubled the score on the 36th. Adrian Carabott made it 3-0 on the 56th and two minutes later, Anthony Ewurum scored the fourth goal with Glen Tabone scoring the fifth goal on the 90th.

St. George’s secured their Second Division status with a 6-0 win over relegated side Ghaxaq at the Sirens Stadium. Kevin Camilleri opened the score on the 24th and a brace by Dylan Caruana on the 30th and 33rd increased the lead further before Christian Grech converted a penalty on the 36th. Eight minutes from time, Dylan Caruana made it 5-0 with Kevin Camilleri scoring the sixth goal a minute later.

San Gwann registered a most comfortable 8-0 win over Attard. Alan Borg and Nezar Abouhaisa gave San Gwann a two-goal lead in the first half with goals on the 9th and 17th. After the break, they added another six goals thanks to Simon Shead on the 57th and 67th, Sergio Hili on the 58th, Abeeb Abiodun Williams on the 86th, Josef Cutajar on the 89th and Nikolai Muscat on the 90th.

Marsaxlokk and Mgarr United shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the Luxol Stadium. Michael Zammit put Marsaxlokk ahead on the 14th minute and Ryan Bonello doubled the score on the 57th with Lazar Doric hitting back for Mgarr with two goals on the 65th and 69th.

Qrendi defeated Swieqi United 3-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Giovanni Galea converted a penalty on the 3rd minute to put Qrendi ahead and a brace by Josuel Spiteri on the 38th and 44th increased the lead further.

At the Centenary Stadium, Zabbar St. Patrick beat Gudja United 2-0 courtesy of Kyle Azzopardi on the 11th and Kurt Borg on the 31st while an own goal on the 58th minute gave Birzebbuga St. Peter’s a narrow win over Siggiewi.

Zejtun ended their commitments with 65 points, followed by Qrendi on 61, San Gwann 60, Zabbar 59, Swieqi 37, Birzebbuga 36, Siggiewi 35, Mgarr 30, Attard 27, Marsaxlokk and St. George’s 23, Gudja 22, Mellieha 21 and Ghaxaq 11.
