This open day formed part of the Malta FA’s project to increase participation numbers at grassroots level. The recently-held festival helped to encourage more young girls to take up football as only three per cent of the participants are enrolled in a football nursery.

During the Live Your Goals Festival, the girls were under the professional guidance of MFA national team coaches, national team players and club coaches.

Fun activities and team games were the order of the day during the festival which also emphasised of the values of fair play and sportsmanship.

The Live Your Goals campaign is organised by the MFA Technical Centre’s Grassroots & Women’s Football Sector under the auspices of FIFA.

Expressions of thanks are extended to the world football governing body for their continuous support to women’s football in Malta.

The MFA Technical Centre is also grateful to the Directorate for Quality and Standards in Education (DQSE), Secretariat for Catholic Education, participating schools, club coaches, players, MFA staff and volunteers for their co-operation and enthusiastic participation in sharing their vision of developing women’s football at grassroots level and looks forward optimistically to its next events.
