Birkirkara sign Brandon Muscat, appoint new assistant coach

After securing the services of Luke Montebello and Jake Grech, Birkirkara signed Brandon Muscat from Hibernians. The twenty-two year old signed a two year deal with the club.

A product of Hibernians, Muscat made his Premier League debut in season 2010/11. He spent most of his time on loan with a number of clubs including Tarxien Rainbows and Pembroke Athleta in the Premier League, St. George’s and Mqabba in Division 1.

Apart from these new signings, the Stripes will be retaining Philip Schranz and Kurt Zammit who were on loan with Tarxien Rainbows last season.

Meanwhile after appointing Peter Pullicino as their new coach, Birkirkara appointed Mark Buttigieg as his assistant.

Buttigieg, who led SK Victoria Wanderers to the semi-finals of the FA Trophy, is a UEFA Pro Licenced coach. He had earlier served as Physical Trainer within the MFA Technical Centre – assisting the Under-19 and Under-21 national teams.
