Four new signings for Hamrun Spartans

Following the transfer of Jake Grech to Birkirkara, Hamrun Spartans acted swiftly to strengthen their squad after agreeing deals with four players.

As part of the Jake Grech transfer to Birkirkara, Hamrun signed Daniel Zerafa from the Stripes. A product of Hamrun Spartans, Daniel Zerafa made his Premier League debut in season 2010/11. He moved to Birkirkara in summer 2013 but spent time on loan with St. George’s in 2014/15 and then Tarxien Rainbows over the past two years.

Another player who turned out for Tarxien Rainbows – Triston Caruana also joined the Spartans. A product of Hibernians, Caruana made his debut in season 2008/09. He moved to Qormi on loan mid-way through season 2011/12 and after spending two-and-a-half years with the club, he moved to Tarxien Rainbows where he spent the past three years.

Gozitan goalkeeper Steve Sultana joins Hamrun Spartans from Gozitan champions Xewkija Tigers. Sultana, who started his career with Nadur Youngsters, had already played for four years in the Premier League after spending three years with Qormi between seasons 2011/12 and 2013/14 before moving to Balzan where he played for one year. In summer 2015, he returned to Gozo to join Xewkija.

Dale Camilleri will be joining the Spartans from St. Andrews. Dale Camilleri played for Pietà Hotspurs and Gharghur before joining St. Andrews in Division 1 in season 2014/15. He made his Premier League debut for the Saints in season 2015/16.

Both Steve Sultana and Dale Camilleri are recent additions to the national team with Camilleri making his debut for the national team in the friendly match against Ukraine earlier this month.
