Malta Futsal School – Summer Camp 2017

With the local Futsal championship currently on a summer break and whilst preparations start for the new championship season, today we are going to have a look at the futsal summer camp organised by the Malta Futsal School. This summer camp kicked off around two weeks ago and the school is attended by over one hundred members, a mix of boys and girls.

With the number of participants increasing from one year to another, the school founders, Jonathan Pisani and JeanBert Gatt, both agree that the school is experiencing its largest growth since opening in September of 2010. The Malta Futsal School accepts members from the very young age of three years up until the age of fifteen.

During the past years, both Pisani and Gatt faced obstacles and made many personal sacrifices to keep the school going. However, with great team work and determination, they overcame this together with the support from their experienced coaches.

To date, the school is seeing the results that both Pisani and Gatt had once dreamed of. In fact, as of the coming season, youth players Liam Sciberras and Zak Calleja, will be joining the Swieqi United under 21 futsal team and both will be participating in the local futsal championship. One must also not forget that another youth player who attended the Malta Futsal School in the past, Chloe Ann Ellul, is today a Malta Women’s Under 17 national team player.

The Malta Futsal School conducts training sessions at the Ta’ Qali Pavilion. Children are split into different groups based on ages. Training sessions are prepared in a way that children enjoy themselves amongst other important factors, with the focus being to improve speed, agility, technique and quick thinking amongst other advantages that the game of futsal has to offer.
