Mosta sign Edison Bilbao Zarate

Mosta secured the services of Chilean midfielder Edison Bilbao Zarate.

The thirty-year old played in the USA for Jersey Express and New Jersey Ironmen before moving to Portugal where he played for Murca SC, Montalegre and Mondinense and following a spell in Costa Rica with Ramonense, he joined Qormi in summer 2012. The following summer, he moved to the USA to join New York Cosmos but returned to Malta in January 2014, joining Balzan. Edison Bilbao was transferred to Birkirkara in the January 2016 transfer window, moving to Ghajnsielem on loan last year.

The Blues had earlier secured the services of defenders Tomas Veronese and Semen Datsenko, Brazilian duo Cristian Jorge Martins Fernandes and Jhonatan da Silva Pereira and Nigerian David Ifeanyi Nworah.

Thirty-year old left-back Thomas Veronese has always played in his native Italy, turning out for Venezia, Belluno, Trento, FC Sudtirol, Bassano, Montichiari, ASC St. Georgen, AC Mezzocorona, Marano, Trento and Mestre. Twenty-three year old central defender Semen Datsenko played for Metalist Kharkiv at youth level before spells with the second teams of PFK Oleksandria and SK Tavriya and later for the senior teams of SK Tavriya, Ilyichivets, Metalist Kharkiv and FK Inhulets. Earlier this year, he moed to Shirak Gyumri in Armenia. Twenty-two year old Nworah already had a spell with Mosta last season before moving to Al-Oruba Sur in Oman.

Twenty-six year old Brazilian midfielder Cristian Fernandes starts his second spell at the club after playing for the club in season 2013/14. On the other hand, twenty-eight year old attacking midfielder Jhonatan started his career in Brazil with Gremio and later played for CA Metropolitano, EC Juventude and Atletico Paranaense. He moved to Sheriff in Moldova and after a spell with Tractor Sazi in Iran, he returned to Brazil to join CA Juventus and EC Pelotas. He had a short spell with Tochigi SC in Japan before returning to his home country to join ES Comercial.
