Hibernians face tough Floriana task

Champions Hibernians face a difficult task on Saturday as they take on Floriana in one of the four BOV Premier League matches in programme at the National Stadium and the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Balzan face Sliema Wanderers, Tarxien Rainbows take on Gzira United while Birkirkara meet Mosta.

Balzan vs Sliema Wanderers, kick-off 18:00 at National Stadium
Following a shock 2-3 defeat to St. Andrews, Balzan hope to bounce back with a win over Sliema Wanderers. However the Blues are eager to maintain their unbeaten record and register a second win after defeating Naxxar Lions 5-1 in their last outing and a 2-2 draw in their opening game against Senglea Athletic.

The Wanderers should have Edmond Agius making his debut.

Hibernians vs Floriana, kick-off 20:00 at National Stadium
Hibernians aim at maintaining their perfect record with a win over a Floriana side which was held in a 1-1 draw by Birkirkara but then registered an emphatic 5-0 win over Tarxien Rainbows. The Paolites, on the other hand, defeated St. Andrews 4-0 and Hamrun Spartans 1-0 and another win on Saturday would ensure they stay top of the table.

Tarxien Rainbows vs Gzira United, kick-off 18:00 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
Another team chasing a third win is Gzira United following a 4-0 win over Lija Athletic and a 2-0 win over Birkirkara. The Rainbows, on the other hand, are yet without any points after suffering a 1-4 defeat to Hamrun and a 0-5 defeat to Floriana.

Justin Haber is set to make his debut for the Maroons after joining the club last week. Tarxien could not count on the suspended Ebiabowei Baker.

Birkirkara vs Mosta, kick-off 20:15 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
Under the guidance of new coach Paul Zammit, Birkirkara will be all out to register their first win as they take on Mosta. The Stripes drew 1-1 with Floriana before losing 0-2 to Gzira United. Mosta, however, will be determined to make life difficult for them as they target another positive result following a 3-1 win over Lija in their last outing.

Birkirkara could have Nikola Vukanac and Mislav Andjelkovic making their return after re-joining the club.
