Qormi were off to a winning start as they defeated Marsa by the odd goal in five in one of two matches at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.

Charles Newuche gave Marsa the lead on the 15th minute but a brace by Lubos Adamec on the 17th and 20th turned the score in favour of Qormi. Mark Gauci equalised on the 22nd but Yannick Yankam notched the winner on the 74th minute.

San Gwann and Vittoriosa Stars shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Thiago Lopes de Souza put San Gwann ahead on the 23rd minute, Liam Gauci levelled matters on the 65th but Joao Claudio Kiala restored the lead for San Gwann on the 79th. However Clive Spiteri restored equilibrium three minutes from time.
