Maroons hope to extend perfect record

Leaders Gzira United hope to make it five wins in a row on Sunday as they take on St. Andrews in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the National Stadium.

The Maroons defeated Lija, Birkirkara, Tarxien and Hibernians and another win on Sunday would ensure they move once again four points ahead of second-placed Birkirkara. The Saints, on the other hand, lost three out of the four matches played, collecting their only points in a shock 3-2 win over Balzan. In their last outing, St. Andrews lost 0-4 to Floriana.

Meanwhile in the second match, Balzan take on Valletta. Two teams who failed to impress so far. The Citizens registered three 1-0 wins but were held in a draw by Naxxar. Balzan, on the other hand, defeated Naxxar in their first outing but then lost to St. Andrews and were held in draws by Sliema and Hamrun.

Balzan could not count on the suspended Paul Fenech and Bojan Kaljevic.
