Ghedin names provisional squad ahead of final two games

National coach Pietro Ghedin named a provisional twenty-four man squad ahead of the final two Group F matches from the European Qualifiers leading to the 2018 FIFA World Cup against Lithuania on Thursday 5th and against Slovakia on Sunday 8th October.

Michael Johnson of Balzan is the only player to be dropped from the last game against Scotland while Cain Attard of Birkirkara and Ryan Camilleri of Valletta are back. Four uncapped players made it to the provisional squad, namely Steve Sultana, defender Daniel Zerafa and forwards Siraj Arab and Lydon Micallef – all of Hamrun Spartans.

Ryan Fenech is only available for the game against Slovakia in Trnava.

The provisional squad is made up of:
