Victoria Hotspurs defeat Xewkija to retain perfect record

Victoria Hotspurs maintained a perfect record in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division as they defeated champions Xewkija Tigers 1-0 at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday.

Henrique Maciel scored the all-important goal on the 75th minute.

Nadur Youngsters joined the Tigers in second place thanks to a narrow win over Ghajnsielem on Friday courtesy of a Darko Krstic goal just before half-time.

Kercem Ajax registered their first win as they came from behind to beat SK Victoria Wanderers on Sunday. Predrag Djordjevic put the Wanderers ahead on the 9th minute and Sam Harland doubled the score on the 25th. Ognjen Rolovic pulled one back on the 41st minute and the same player equalised on the 68th with Alen Haska notching the winner on the 77th.

In another match on Friday, Oratory Youths and Gharb Rangers shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

Meanwhile in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, Munxar Falcons registered their second win as they beat Sannat Lions 3-0 at the Kercem Ajax Stadium on Saturday. Samwel Muscat put them ahead on the 25th minute, Jordi Parnis doubled the score on teh 38th and Michael Mattias Uzor sealed the issue with a third goal on the 72nd.

In another match, Mohammed Senussi Telessi scored four as St. Lawrence Spurs defeated Zebbug Rovers 4-1. He opened the score on the 16th and scored another two on the 34th and 36th and although Elijah Xuereb pulled one back on the 59th, Senussi Telessi converted a penalty on the 62nd to make it 4-1.
