BOV Women’s League: Hibs cruise past Rainbows

Hibernians registered a second win in the BOV Women’s League as they defeated neighbours Tarxien Rainbows 9-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium on Tuesday.

Dorianne Theuma put the Paolites ahead on the 18th minute. Seven minutes later Shona Zammit doubled the score and two minutes later, Francesca Chircop made it 3-0. Shona Zammit scored a fourth goal on the 32nd with Dorianne Theuma adding another two before the end of the first half on the 38th and 41st. Ten minutes in the second half, Francesca Chircop made it 7-0 with Shona Zammit adding another four minutes later and Kayleigh Chetcuti scoring a ninth goal one minute from time.

Kirkop United also registered a second win, defeating Swieqi United 3-0 at the Zebbug Ground thanks to goals by Emily Pace on teh 37th, Demi Magrin on the 64th and Liis Pello two minutes from time.

Mgarr United defeated Fgura United 5-0 at the Mgarr Ground. Goals by Rebecca D’Agostino on the 7th minute, Angelique Aquilina on the 27th and Roxanne Micallef on the 40th with Amber Grech scoring twice in the second half on the 58th and 76th.

Raiders (Luxol) claimed their first points thanks to a 3-1 win over Mosta at the Charles Abela Stadium on Wednesday. Leanne Micallef gave Raiders a two-goal lead on the 15th and 36th. Raisa Calleja pulled one back on the 44th minute but Leanne Micallef restored the two-goal leader five minutes from time.

Meanwhile in the Women’s Under-19 League, Gozo defeated Mosta 4-2 at the Ghajnsielem Ground thanks to a brace by Joelene Camilleri and goals by Christina Thewma and Miriana Conti with Emma Ciantar Piccinino and Elysha Ellul scoring the goals for Mosta.

Tarxien Rainbows, on the other hand, defeated Zebbug Rangers 16-0 at the Kirkop Ground thanks to goals by Elena Sissons (3), Amy Busuttil (2), Chloe Ellul (2), Kailey Willis (5), Jade Schembri, Jessica Dimech (2) and Tammy Agius.
