Tricky test for leaders Gzira

Gzira United will be all out to regain sole leadership in the BOV Premier League as they take on rivals Hamrun Spartans in one of the two matches in programme on Sunday at the Centenary Stadium.

The Maroons are still unbeaten but they dropped their first points in a 1-1 draw with Floriana in their last outing. The Spartans, on the other hand, are currently sixth on ten points but are coming from a 5-2 win over Mosta in their last game two weeks ago.

Gzira could not count on the suspended Samba Tounkara while Hamrun should have former Italy international defender Cristian Zaccardo making his debut.

Meanwhile in the second game, Sliema Wanderers and Birkirkara both target maximum points after failing to impress in recent outings. Both sides lost two out of the last three matches.

The Wanderers are coming from a 1-2 defeat to Tarxien while the Stripes suffered a heavy 0-3 defeat to Valletta.
