Qormi maintained a perfect record in the BOV First Division as they registered a sixth win in as many matches, defeating Rabat Ajax 5-2 at the Centenary Stadium on Monday.

Zwivhuya Chris Matombo put Qormi ahead on the 15th minute and four minutes later, Lubos Adamec doubled the score. Michael Camilleri made it 3-0 on the 38th and eight minutes in the second half, Matombo scored a fourth goal. Gianluca Bugeja pulled one back for Rabat on the 66th but Michael Camilleri scored a fifth for Qormi three minutes fro time with Aidan Azzopardi scoring Rabat’s second on the 89th.

Meanwhile in another match, Vittoriosa Stars came from behind to beat Pietà Hotspurs 2-1. Clive Gauci put the Hotspurs ahead on the 17th but Andre Farrugia equalised on the 32nd and Obinna Obiefule notched the winner on the hour.

Qormi lead the way with 18 points, followed by Zebbug on 11, Sirens, Qrendi and San Gwann 10, Pietà and Zejtun 9, Vittoriosa 8, Mqabba 7, Zabbar 6, Marsa and Melita 3, Rabat 0 and Pembroke -1. Pembroke had ten points deducted.
