Sta. Venera Lightnings returned to winning ways in the BOV Third Division as they defeated Marsaskala 5-1 at the Sirens Stadium.

Eddie Wileman put them ahead on the 35th and Mark Grech doubled the score one minute in the second half. Dylan Mercieca made it 3-0 four minutes later with Wileman adding another two goals on the 64th and 70th. Matthew Gauci scored a consolation goal for Marsaskala ten minutes from time.

Ghaxaq registered a second consecutive win as they beat Mtarfa 2-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium thanks to a brace by Dean Agius on the 28th and 74th.

In another match at the Charles Abela Stadium, Mdina Knights defeated Ta’ Xbiex 3-0 courtesy of Stefi Cale on the 7th and 16th and Mark Saliba six minutes in the second half.

On the other hand, a goal by Noel Tabone just before half-time gave Xghajra Tornados a narrow win over Dingli Swallows at the Sirens Stadium.

Sta. Venera lead the way with 15 points, followed by Kirkop and Xghajra on 13, Mellieha 12, Mdina 9, Ghaxaq, Zurrieq and Dingli 7, Mtarfa and Msida 6, Ta’ Xbiex 3, Marsaskala 1.
