BOV Division 2: Kalkara keep the pace with leaders Swieqi

Kalkara kept the pace with leaders Swieqi United as they defeated bottom-placed Gharghur 2-0 at the Luxol Stadium in one of the four BOV Second Division matches in programme on Sunday.

Timothy Thomas put Kalkara ahead on the 62nd minute and Justin Felice doubled the score ten minutes from time.

In another match at the Luxol Stadium, Marsaxlokk defeated Attard 3-1. Alan Tabone converted a penalty to give Marsaxlokk the lead on the 24th minute. Kenneth Ekezie doubled the score on the 38th and one minute in the second half, Alan Tabone added another before Dormond Micallef pulled one back for Attard on the 52nd minute.

At the Sirens Stadium, Santa Lucia registered a 3-0 win over Luqa St. Andrew’s, courtesy of Sebastian Perdomo on the 36th and 84th and Andre Joe Cutajar on the 64th.

In another match at the Sirens Stadium, Mgarr United and Siggiewi shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Trayo Grozev converted a penalty on the 8th minute to put Siggiewi ahead but goals by Daniel Cremona on the 57th and Lazar Doric six minutes later turned the score in Mgarr’s favour. However Trayo Grozev levelled matters on the 90th.

Swieqi lead the way with 23 points, followed by Kalkara on 19, Gudja, Santa Lucia and Fgura on 16, Marsaxlokk 15, Siggiewi 14, Birzebbuga and Mgarr 12, Luqa 7, Attard 6, St. George’s 4 and Gharghur 2. St. George’s had two points deducted.
