Comfortable Hibernians win in derby

Hibernians kept the pressure on the leaders with a 3-0 win over neighbours Tarxien Rainbows at the National Stadium on Sunday.

For Tarxien, this was the fifth consecutive defeat which leaves them joint-second from bottom on seven points, together with St. Andrews.

The Paolites took the lead on the 23rd minute when off a Marco Sahanek corner from the right, Jurgen Degabriele beat goalkeeper Christian Cassar from close range.

Eleven minutes from time, Hibs sealed the issue with a second goal when off a Marcelo Dias cross from the right, Jorge Elias dos Santos headed the ball in the direction of substitute Marco Antonio Morgon Filho who hit low past the Tarxien custodian.

Johann Bezzina sealed the issue with a third goal on the 86th minute when off a cross from the left, he scored with a diagonal shot from the right.
