Seven Premier League players suspended

Seven Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Clifford Gatt Baldacchino (Gzira), Lydon Micallef (Hamrun), Andrei Agius (Hibs), Abubakar Bello Osagie (Lija), Jonas Rodriguez Ekani and Kurt Magro (Mosta) and Ricardo Martin (St. Andrews) were all banned for one match and will miss their next game during the weekend 8-10 December.

Gatt Baldacchino is ruled out of the clash between Gzira and Valletta while Agius skips the clash with Balzan. Lydon Micallef will be missing the game against Birkirkara, Martin the game between St. Andrews and Tarxien, Bello-Osagie the clash with Floriana while Ekani and Magro are ruled out of the clash with Sliema.

Meanwhile in Division 1, Emilio Cornago San Pedro (Melita), Gaetano Gesualdi (Mqabba), Njongo Priso (Pembroke), Emerson Amaira (Qrendi) and Dylan Falzon (Rabat) were all banned for one match while Rabat Ajax president Amadeo Zammit was banned for two matches.

Matthew Bajada (Attard) was handed a three match ban in Division 2 while Kurt Zahra (Attard), Ranier Buhagiar (Birzebbuga) Jonathan Zahra (Gudja), Luke Pace (Luqa), Glenn Brincat (St. George’s) and Lydon Vella (Santa Lucia) were suspended for one match. Kalkara coach Trevor Thomas was suspended for two matches.

Giuseppe Versace (Dingli) was suspended for two matches in Division 3 while Christian Schembri (Dingli), Matthew Caruana (Kirkop) and Ryan Schembri (Zurrieq) were handed a one-match ban.
