Good comeback for Nadur Youngsters

Nadur Youngsters claimed the three points in dramatic fashion after defeating Kercem Ajax 5-3 at the Kercem Ajax Stadium on Sunday in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division.

Goals by Ognjen Rolovic on the 4th minute and Andrew Mizzi on the 19th gave Kercem a two-goal lead but Darko Krstic reduced the gap on the 21st and a minute later, Dewide Dos Santos equalised. Kercem had Petar Kyumyurdzhiev sent off and Dewide Dos Santos made it 3-2 on the 61st. Kercem restored equilibrium thanks to Ognjen Rolovic on the 68th. However Dewide Dos Santos scored Nadur’s fourth three minutes later with Darko Krstic sealing the issue with another goal five minutes from time.

On Sunday, Victoria Hotspurs returned to winning ways as they defeated neighbours Oratory Youths 4-1. Chris Camilleri put them ahead on the 17th and Christian Mercieca doubled the score on the 28th. Henrique Maciel had a penalty saved by the Youths goalkeeper put the same player increased the lead on the 32nd. Chris Camilleri added another on the 74th but Charles Mercieca pulled one back one minute from time.

On Friday, Gharb Rangers defeated Ghajnsielem 2-1. Borja Polo Longarela put the Rangers ahead on the 18th minute but Everton Felipe Da Silva Santos equalised just before half-time. However Christian Attard notched the winner on the 74th.

On the other hand, Xewkija Tigers defeated SK Victoria Wanderers by the odd goal in five. Despite having Joseph George Vella sent off early in the game, Xewkija scored managed to score three early in the second half thanks to Joseph Mario Vella on the 46th, Milos Stojanovic on the 50th and Claudio Antunes on the 53rd. The Wanderers reduced the gap thanks to Ige Abdullahi Adeshina on teh 61st and Aaron Touarha on the 95th.

In the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, leaders Munxar Falcons defeated bottom side Xaghra United 3-1 on Wednesday. A brace by Samuel Muscat on the 22nd and 54th and a goal by Jordi Parnis gave Munxar a three-goal lead with Manuel Galea converting a penalty on the hour to score a consolation goal for Xaghra.

Sannat Lions moved second thanks to a 3-2 win over Zebbug Rovers on Saturday. Botshelo Gibson Mfuluane put Zebbug ahead on the 8th minute and although Fabian Xuereb equalised six minutes from the end of the first half, Mfuluane restored the lead eleven minutes in the second half. However a brace by Frenci Kosova on the 58th and 70th gave Sannat the three points.

In another match, St. Laurence Spurs defeated Qala Saints by the odd goal in five. Jake Mifsud put Qala ahead on the 9th but the Spurs turned the score in their favour thanks to a Mohammed Senussi Telessi hat-trick on the 14th, 60th and 84th with Malcolm Cefai reducing the gap with a penalty two minutes from time.
