Hotspurs, Oratory through to GFA First Division Knock-Out semi-finals

Victoria Hotspurs and Oratory Youths joined Ghajnsielem and Kercem Ajax in the semi-finals of the GFA First Division Knock-Out after defeating Gharb Rangers and SK Victoria Wanderers respectively on Sunday.

The Hotspurs defeated Gharb Rangers 2-0 courtesy of Elton Da Silva on the 69th minute and Emiliano Lattes on the 75th.

On the other hand, a goal by Kersten Grima two minutes from the end of the first half gave Oratory Youths a narrow win over neighbours SK Victoria Wanderers.

Meanwhile Sannat Lions and Munxar Falcons will be contesting the final of the GFA Second Division Knock-Out after defeating Xaghra United and Qala Saints respectively.

Sannat found no difficulty in beating Xaghra United 7-0. Franci Kosova opened the score on the 5th minute and Fabian Xuereb doubled the score on the 26th. Joseph Zammit made it 3-0 five minutes from the end of the first half with Matthew Portelli adding another just before half-time. Antoine Camilleri scored twice on the 70th and 76th with Isaac Mompalao adding another on the 90th.

In the other semi-final, Munxar defeated Qala Saints 3-1. Michael Matthias Uzor gave Munxar a two-goal lead as he scored on the 2nd and the 15th and although Christoph Caruana pulled one back three minutes in the second half, Kenneth Mizzi sealed the issue with a third goal in added time.
