Nadur close in on leaders

Nadur Youngsters moved to just one point behind leaders Victoria Hotspurs as they defeated Ghajnsielem 4-1 in a match from the BOV Gozo Football League First Division at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday. However the Hotspurs have a game in hand.

Stanimir Miloskovic put Nadur ahead on the 21st minute but four minutes later, Alberto Xuereb equalised. Nemanja Stojanovic restored the lead nine minutes in the second half with Shaun Attard and Stanimir Miloskovic adding another two goals on the 70th and the 87th.

In another match, Gharb Rangers defeated Oratory Youths 2-1 to move fourth. Christian Attard opened the score on the 5th minute and Darko Stojanovic doubling the scoring on the 18th. Ralph Ebube Okpokwu pulled one back on the 33rd.

Meanwhile in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, St. Lawrence Spurs stunned leaders Munxar Falcons, beating them 6-2 at the Kercem Ajax Stadium on Friday.

On Friday, Sannat Lions defeated Xaghra United 5-0 to move to just one point behind the leaders. Following a goalless first half, Antoine Camilleri put them ahead on the 48th and Matthew Portelli converted a penalty on the 57th to double the score. Antoine Camilleri scored o the 71st and 84th with Joseph Zammit adding another in added time.

Brian Meilak put the Spurs ahead on the 5th minute but Jason Theuma equalised on the 12th. Mohammed Senussi Telessi restored the lead on the half-hour and two minutes later, Charlon Tabone made it 3-1. Christopher Gafa scored a second goal for Munxar on the 33rd minute but Charlon Farrugia scored a fourth goal for the Spurs four minutes from the end of the first half. Mohammed Senussi Telessi scored twice on teh 66th and 71st to increase the lead further.
