Mellieha and Sta. Venera Lightnings extended the lead on top the BOV Third Division as they both registered wins with Xghajra Tornados being held in a draw.

At the Charles Abela Stadium, Mellieha defeated Ghaxaq 3-1. James Borg put Mellieha ahead just before the end of the first half and although Florin Anton converted a penalty to equalise, Jean Scholey restored the lead on the 77th and Bryan Bautista sealed the issue with a third goal five minutes from time.

In another match, St. Venera Lightnings defeated Ta’ Xbiex 4-0 thanks to goals by Luca Bugeja on the 41st, Eddie Wileman on the 66th and 67th and Jonathan Micallef eleven minutes from time.

Xghajra Tornados and Mdina Knights shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Sirens Stadium. Jonathan Muscat put Mdina ahead six minutes from time but Royter Degiorgio equalised three minutes in added time.

On the other hand, a penalty by Michael Theuma on the half-hour and a goal by Fabrizio Zammit in added time gave Kirkop United a 2-0 win over Dingli Swallows.

Sta. Venera and Mellieha lead the way with 32 points, followed by Xghajra on 25, Kirkop 24, Mdina 20, Msida 19, Ghaxaq 15, Zurrieq 14, Dingli 13, Mtarfa 10, Marsaskala 7 and Ta’ Xbiex 4.
