Fine win for women’s national team over Estonia

The women’s national team bounced back from the narrow defeat to Estonia earlier this week with a 4-1 win over the same team in a friendly match at the Centenary Stadium on Thursday.

The Maltese managed to take the lead on the 18th minute thanks to a long-distance effort by Shona Zammit. On the 31st minute, Malta doubled the score thanks to a Jade Flask header. Seven minutes later, Shona Zammit made it 3-0 with a fine shot from the edge of the area and just before half-time Maria Farrugia took advantage of a defensive blunder and placed the ball inside the empty net.

The visitors reduced the gap on the 62nd minute thanks to substitute Ulrika Tulp.
