Despite ending in nine men after having two players sent off, Zabbar St. Patrick collected three precious points in a 2-1 win over Vittoriosa Stars in a match from the BOV First Division at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Friday. A win which puts them four points clear of Melita and Marsa.

Shalon Diacono put the Saints ahead on the 11th minute and although Francisco Arriagada Mella levelled matters for Vittoriosa, Kurt Borg converted a penalty just before the end of the first half to hand Zabbar the three points.

Qormi lead the way with 38 points, followed by Mqabba on 32, Pietà and Zebbug 30, Vittoriosa 26, Zejtun 23, Sirens and San Gwann 21, Qrendi 20, Pembroke and Zabbar 16, Melita and Marsa 12 and Rabat 4.
