Fgura United closed in on the top two in the BOV Second Division as they defeated Santa Lucia in a direct clash from the BOV Second Division at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.

Abeeb Abiodun Williams scored the all-important goal for Fgura eight minutes in the second half.

In another match, Marsaxlokk came from behind to beat Mgarr United 3-1. Daniel Cremona put Mgarr ahead on the 11th but Kenneth Ekezie equalised on the 27th. Alan Tabone converted a penalty eight minutes in the second half and Ekezie sealed the issue with another goal on the 90th.

Swieqi lead the way with 32 points, followed by Santa Lucia on 31, Siggiewi and Fgura 30, Marsaxlokk 28, Gudja 27, Birzebbuga and Kalkara 26, Mgarr 19, Luqa 14, Attard 10, St. George’s 6 and Gharghur 3.
