Hamrun Spartans move to more comfortable mid-table position

Hamrun Spartans scored three in the second half to beat Senglea Athletic 3-0 at the National Stadium on Sunday.

The Spartans therefore registered a second consecutive win which puts them on the 31-point mark, nine ahead of Senglea who remain fifth from bottom.

Following a goalless first half, Hamrun managed to break the deadlock thanks to Tiago Souza da Silveira who headed the ball home following corner from the left by Thiago Espindola de Paula.

Senglea had Gonzalo Julian Leyton sent off on the 66th minute and a minute later, Hamrun doubled the score thanks to a Lydon Micallef header from close range following a cross by Alex Nilsson from the right.

Ten minutes from time, the Spartans made it 3-0 thanks to a header by Cristian Zaccardo following a cross by Thiago Espindola de Paula from the right.
