Victoria Hotspurs maintain ten point lead

Victoria Hotspurs maintained a ten-point lead on top the BOV Gozo Football League First Division as they defeated Oratory Youths 3-0 at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday.  Christian Mercieca scored twice on teh 66th and the 80th with Elton da Silva adding another on the 84th.

Nadur Youngsters returned to winning ways as they  beat Kercem Ajax 3-1 on Friday. Andrew Said put the Ajax ahead on the 26th minute but six minutes later, Brandon Said equalised. Shaun Attard made it 2-1 on the 37th and a Dewide dos Santos penalty sealed the issue six minutes from time.

In another match on Friday, SK Victoria Wanderers collected three precious points in the battle against relegation as they defeated Gharb Rangers 1-0, courtesy of Ajibade Adeshina on the 23rd minute.

On Sunday, Ghajnsielem held Xewkija Tigers in a 1-1 draw. Luis Andre De Melo Lima put the Blacks ahead just before the end of the first half but Claudio Antunes equalised thirteen minutes in the second half.

Meanwhile in the Gozo Football League Second Division, Munxar Falcons kept marching on thanks to a 3-0 win over Qala Saints at the Kercem Ajax Stadium on Saturday.

Samwel Muscat put the Falcons ahead on the 13th, Paul Said doubled the score on the 72nd and an own goal on the 82nd handed them the three points.

In another match, Xaghra United defeated Zebbug Rovers 2-0 thanks to Milorad Janjus on the 40th and Adrian Xiberras on the 70th.
