Għarb Rangers forward Marcelo Barbosa is the BOV GFA Player of the Month for March 2018.

Barbosa joined Rangers in January and won the admiration of the Gozitan football fans, not only with his technical and physical skills, but also with his decisive goal-scoring. The Brazilian’s contributions helped Għarb move away from the relegation zone and be competitive against higher quoted teams.

27 year old Barbosa scored the winning goal in Għarb’s 1-0 victory over Xewkija Tigers and also found the back of the net in his team’s 3-3 draw against second placed Nadur Youngsters. His most significant contribution came in Għarb’s second victory over Zewkija with a score of 5-3 where Barbosa scored no less than 4 of his team’s goals.

Horace Laudi, Regional Executive for Gozo at Bank of Valletta presented the BOV GFA Player of the Month Trophy for March 2018 to Barbosa who chose the Arka Foundation to benefit from the donation related to this award.
