Four new coaches join MFA youth sector

Four new coaches have joined the youth sector of the Malta Football Association.

Experienced coach Winston Muscat has been appointed coach of the Under-19 national team. Muscat obtained his UEFA Pro Coaching Licence last year after successfully completing the first course at this level organised by the Malta FA Technical Centre. He takes over from Wayne Attard.

The Malta FA Technical Centre has also engaged the services of Paul Gatt who will be working with the academy teams. For the past two seasons, Gatt, who has a UEFA B coaching licence and will shortly start the UEFA A course, worked at the youth academy of Italian Serie A club Lazio.

Mark Marlow is making a return to the Malta FA coaching set-up to take up a new role as assistant coach of the national Under-17 team and coach of the Under-15s (born 2004). Marlow, who holds a UEFA Pro Coaching Licence and has also completed the UEFA A Youth Elite Course, joins from Mosta FC where he was the head coach of their youth nursery for the past six years.

The Malta FA Technical Centre has also recruited Gregory Degabriele as physical trainer to work with the youth teams and academy boys. Degabriele has gained considerable experience at club level, having worked for a host of local clubs, including Melita, Pembroke Athleta, Tarxien Rainbows and Ħamrun Spartans FC. Apart from being a qualified physical trainer, Degabriele also holds a UEFA B coaching licence.
