First point for Birkirkara in Women’s Champions League

Birkirkara earned their first ever point in a UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifier after holding Cardiff Met Women of Wales in a 2-2 draw at the FC Metalist Training Ground in Vysokiy, Ukraine on Monday in a match from Group 6 of the qualifying round.

Erin Murray put Cardiff Met ahead on the 11th minute but Raina Giusti levelled matters on the 28th minute with a fine volley. Stephanie Turner restored the lead on the 35th but one minute from the end of the first half, new recruit Ylenia Carabott restored equilibrium with a long-distance shot which beat the Welsh goalkeeper.
