Spartans hope to extend unbeaten record with a third win

Hamrun Spartans will be aiming for a third win on Saturday as they take on Tarxien Rainbows at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday, kick-off at 20:15.

Along with Gzira United, the Spartans are still unbeaten, having won two matches against Floriana and St. Andrews and drawn with Gzira. A third win against Tarxien on Saturday would put them on top the BOV Premier League table ahead of Gzira’s clash with Hibernians on Sunday.

Tarxien lost to Gzira in their first game but then registered a comfortable win over St. Andrews. However they disappointed in their last outing as they lost 1-3 to Mosta. They are therefore eager to bounce back.

Meanwhile in the first match, kick-off at 18:00, St. Andrews face Sliema Wanderers.

The Saints had a fine start but then suffered defeats to Tarxien and Hamrun. On the other hand, Sliema won their first two matches against Valletta and Floriana but then last week, they suffered a 0-2 defeat to neighbours Gzira United.

Amoy Brown of St. Andrews and Ryan Fenech of Sliema Wanderers are both ruled through suspension.
