Five-star Valletta make it six wins in a row

Valletta made it six wins in a row as they registered a most comfortable 5-0 win over Mosta at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday. A win which puts the Citizens temporarily in second place, four points behind leaders Gzira United.

In these six games, Valletta scored no less than twenty seven goals, conceding just two.

Valletta lacked Henry Bonello, Joseph Zerafa and Bojan Kaljevic while Rowen Muscat was retained on the bench. They were replaced by Yenz Cini, Jean Borg, Kyrian Nwoko and Enmy Pena Beltre. Mosta, on the other hand, had two changes as Misael Miranda Gomez and Falou Ndiaye Samb replaced Renan Oliveira and Romeu Romao.

Just before the end of the first half, the Citizens doubled the score thanks to Miguel Angel Alba, served by Fontanella, who advanced before hitting low past Vella.

Mosta were unlucky not to reduce the gap through Zachary Brincat whose effort hit the woodwork.

Valletta made it 3-0 on the 75th minute when Mario Fontanella was brought down inside the area and from the penalty spot, Matteo Piciollo converted.

Miguel Angel Alba scored the fourth goal on the 79th, beating the Mosta custodian after a fine solo effort.

Five minutes from time, Bogdan Gavrila made it 5-0, hitting home when served by Fontanella.
