Futsal: Luxol, Swieqi maintain perfect record after four matches

Luxol and Swieqi United maintained their positive momentum with a fourth win in as many matches. Luxol defeated their own Under-19 team 14-2 while Swieqi United registered a 4-2 win against the University of Malta Students Futsal Team.

The Universitarians, under the guidance of coach Clayton Felice, are progressing and settling down after the complete change from the last season. Meanwhile, Swieqi United under player-coach Boycho Marev are confirming themselves as one of the contenders for this season.

The Universitarians broke the deadlock after seven minutes played, through captain Neil Cauchi. Eventually Swieqi United turned the score in their favour thanks to Boycho Marev and Andre Ciancio. Six minutes in the second half, Swieqi United extended the lead through Stefan Camilleri. Three minutes later the Universitarians reduced the arrears through Daniele Degennaro but in the last minute, Leonardo De Souza scored the fourth and decisive goal, giving Swieqi United a 4-2 win.

Birkirkara registered a second consecutive win, this time beating Swieqi United U21 with the end result of 10-1.

Valletta, with a game in hand due to their participation in the UEFA Futsal Champions League, made it three wins in a row after beating Tarxien Rainbows 8-1.

On the other hand, Pietà Hotspurs beat UM Futsal Academy 11-5.
