Free entrance to all football matches this Friday

As part of its on-going efforts to promote Maltese football and to encourage more fans to support local clubs, the Malta Football Association is offering free admission to the matches being played this Friday, 23rd November, 2018.

This initiative, which coincides with the increasingly popular Black Friday, applies to the league matches in all divisions.

Friday’s fixtures are:
BOV Premier League: 19:00 Balzan vs Ħamrun Spartans (National Stadium)
BOV First Division: 19:00 Swieqi United vs Qrendi (Luxol Stadium); Pembroke Athleta vs Naxxar Lions (Victor Tedesco Stadium).
BOV Second Division: 18:00 Siġġiewi vs Mġarr United (Centenary Stadium); 20:15 Marsaxlokk vs Luqa St Andrew’s (Centenary Stadium)

The ‘Black Friday Football Frenzy’ offer follows other initiatives taken by the Malta FA earlier this season aimed at increasing attendances for domestic competitions.

In August, the Malta FA announced a reduced €2 ticket price for the matches from the BOV Second and Third Division championships while senior citizens and children, who previously paid €2.50 and €1 respectively, enter for free.

The latest initiative to grant free admission to all matches this Friday also stems from the Gate Income scheme introduced by the Association before the start of this season whereby all the clubs will receive a guaranteed yearly sum related to gate receipts, regardless of the attendance figures for their league matches.
