Hibs regain top spot as Qormi suffer eighth consecutive defeat

Hibernians re-joined Gzira United on top the BOV Premier League table as they defeated Qormi 2-1 at the National Stadium on Sunday.

Qormi, on the other hand, suffered the eighth consecutive defeat and the ninth defeat in eleven matches as new technical advisor and goalkeepers’ coach Mario Muscat made his debut with the club.

Hibernians took the lead on the 37th minute when Taylor Correa Marcolino served Johann Bezzina whose fine shot from the edge of the area gave goalkeeper Jamie Azzopardi no chance.
