Paolucci scores twice as Tarxien beat Pietà 3-0

Tarxien Rainbows collected three precious points in a 3-0 win over Pietà Hotspurs at the National Stadium on Sunday. A win which puts Tarxien in eighth place on fifteen points as they leapfrog Floriana and St. Andrews.

The Hotspurs, on the other hand, remain fourth from bottom on ten points.

The Rainbows took the lead just before half-time when off a Ricardinho cross from the left, Alex Nilsson headed the ball home past goalkeeper Nicky Vella.

On the 67th minute, Tarxien were awarded a penalty after Alex Nilsson was brought down inside the area. From the penalty spot, Michele Paolucci converted.

Michele Paolucci made it 3-0 seven minutes later as he beat Vella with a diagonal shot from the right after having a first attempt blocked by a defender.
