Xewkija Tigers hit nine past Munxar

Xewkija Tigers kept the pace with leaders Victoria Hotspurs and second-placed Nadur Youngsters as they defeated Munxar Falcons 9-0 in a match from the BOV Gozo Football League First Division at the Kercem Ajax Stadium on Sunday. 

Christian Bugeja opened the score on the 17th minute and two minutes later, Darko Krstic made it 2-0. Joseph Cefai scored a third goal on the 25th and nine minutes later, Darko Krstic put the Tigers four goals ahead.

Krstic scored again on the 48th and 54th with Daniel Bogdanovic converting a penalty on the 63rd while a Darko Krstic penalty added another on the 72nd.  Thomas Vella added another three minutes from time. 

Leaders Victoria Hotspurs beat Ghajnsielem 3-1 on Saturday. Emiliano Lattes put the Hotspurs ahead on the 5th minute and Christian Mercieca doubled the score on the 21st. Lattes added another on the 37th and Kennerh Mercieca reduced the gap on the 57th. 

Nadur Youngsters, on the other hand, beat SK Victoria Wanderers. Goals by Shaun Attard on the 3rd minute and GFA BOV GFL Division I – Yuri de Jesus Messias doubled the score on the 19th. The Youngsters extended the lead thanks to goals by Aud-Gustine James Obaje on the 33rd, Yuri De Jesus Messias on the 38th and Marcelo Junior Barbosa on the 53rd. Samuel Harland reduced the gap on the 70th.

In another match on Saturday, Gharb Rangers defeated Kercem Ajax 4-2. Hugo Santa Rosa Cruz put Gharb ahead on the 2nd minute. However Joshua Buttigieg was quick to equalise on the 4th. Nemanja Stojanovic increased the lead on the 12th. However four minutes in the second half, Felipe Augusto De Oliviera levelled matters with Junior Elisio Batista Da Conceicao scoring twie on the 59th and the 80th to hand Gharb the three points. 

Meanwhile in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, St. Lawrence Spurs defeated Qala Saints 1-0 courtesy of Franci Kosovo on the 95th minute. In another match, Xaghra United and Sannat Lions 1-1. Joseph Zammit put Sannat ahead and Johnny Camilleri equalised thanks to a penalty four minutes from time.
