Four Premier League players suspended

Four Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the last round of matches from the BOV Premier League.

Elkin Serrano (Balzan), Alex Cini (Floriana), Andre Scicluna (Tarxien) and Karl Micallef (Hamrun) were banned for one match and therefore ruled out of the next games which will be played between January 11 and 13.

Cini and Micallef are ruled out of Floriana vs Hamrun. Serrano will miss the game against Birkirkara while Scicluna skips the clash with Gzira.

Meanwhile in Division 1, Angel Manuel Bustos (Sirens), Patrick Borg and Daniel Scerri (Lija), Joseph Bonello (Marsa), Neil Tabone (Zejtun), Angus Buhagiar and Mead Mifsud (Naxxar), Francesco Gusman (Mqabba) and Steven Schembri (Zebbug) for one match while Lija Athletic official Joseph Sammut and kit-manager Larken Micallef were banned for four matches and two matches respectively.

In Division 2, Dean Sciberras (Melita), Fabian Axisa (Mellieha) and Aidan Agius (Zabbar) were handed a oe-match ban with Birzebbuga team manager Kyle Lautier also banned for one match.

Michael Ciappara (Ghaxaq) and Adrian Lanzon (Mtarfa) were both banned for three matches in Division 3 while Darren Caruana and Daniele Marsala (Gharghur), Joseph Mwema Munyao (Mtarfa) and Juergen Ebejer (Ta’ Xbiex) were suspended for one match.
