Floriana secured the services of thirty-two year old defender Edward Herrera from Birkirkara. A product of Melita, Herrera joined Pieta Hotspurs in summer 2006 on loan. He also spent 2007/08 on loan with the Hotspurs but in summer 2008, he was loaned to Hibernians. Herrera made a permanent move to the Paolites the following season.
