BOV Division 2: Marsaxlokk move top after winning top-of-the-table clash

Marsaxlokk are the new leaders of the BOV Second Division after defeating Fgura United 1-0 in a top-of-the-table clash at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday. The Southseasiders move two points ahead of Fgura and four ahead of Mġarr but the latter have a game in hand.

Alan Tabone scored the all-important goal thanks to a penalty on the 77th minute.

In another match, Kalkara returned to winning ways as they defeated Luqa St. Andrew’s 3-1. Aaron Agius converted a penalty on the 35th and Emmanuel Mbong scored twice on the 45th and 74th with Andy Portelli scoring a consolation goal six minutes from time.

Marsaxlokk lead the way with 36 points, followed by Fgura on 34, Mġarr 32, Birzebbuga 31, St. George’s 28, Rabat 27, Melita 23, Zabbar and Sta. Venera 13, Siggiewi 11, Kalkara 10, Mellieha 9 and Luqa 8.
