Nine Premier League players suspended

Nine Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Matthew Guillaumier (Birkirkara), Rodolfo Soares (Gzira), Dunstan Vella (Hibs), Juri Cisotti and Gianluca Cuomo (Mosta), Alan Abela (Qormi), Jacob Walker (St. Andrews), Matthew Spiteri (Tarxien), Bojan Kaljevic (Valletta) were all handed a one-match ban.

Kaljevic is ruled out of Balzan vs Valletta while Dunstan Vella and Matthew Spiteri will skip the Hibs vs Tarxien derby. Cisotti and Cuomo will be unavailable for the match against Pieta. Abela and Soares are ruled out of Qormi vs Gzira. Jacob Walker will miss the clash against Birkirkara.

In Division 1, Antonio Chetcuti (Santa Lucia) was suspended for two matches while Adolphus Nagbe Marshall (Gudja), Gianfranco Micallef (Mqabba), Ryan Gilmour Cassar and Benjamin Essel (Naxxar), Christian Caruana (Qrendi), Sergio Hili (San Gwann), Nick Borg and Ryan Caruana (Santa Lucia), Kieran Degiorgio and Joseph Jojo Ogunnupe (Vittoriosa), Gregori de Sousa Braga (Zebbug) and Gianluca Sultana (Zejtun) were all banned for one match.

Pembroke coach Brian Spiteri was suspended for two matches while Naxxar officials Shaun Camilleri and Luke Karl Camilleri and kit-manager Adrian Ciappara were all banned for one match.

In Division 2, Jordan Debattista (Mellieha) Joseph Paul Zammit (Mgarr), Miguel Xerri (Rabat), Luca Bugeja (Sta. Venera) and Kumpei Tanaka (Zabbar) vwere suspended for one match.

Adrian Paul Sammut (Attard) was handed a three-match ban in Division 3, Jurgen Gerada (Attard) was banned for two while Edward Azzopardi and Nigel Spiteri (Attard), Nigel Vella (Ghaxaq), Christian Briffa (Marsaskala), Sean Attard and Isaac Chircop (Msida) and Glen Attard (Xghajra) were all banned for one match.

Attard kit-manager Edward Catania was banned for two matches.
