MFA creates fund to help clubs hit by the inclement weather

The Malta Football Association has created a fund to assist affiliated clubs whose facilities have been severely damaged by the inclement weather which hit the Maltese islands last weekend.

The Malta FA has also made requests to the Government and UEFA to contribute towards this fund.

The fund will be overseen by the association’s Projects Board and clubs will be asked to formally submit their respective claims, subject to the presentation of the relevant documentation.

In the meantime, the Malta FA is still evaluating the extent of the damage caused to its facilities at Ta’ Qali following last weekend’s thunderstorms and gale-force winds.

The Association’s maintenance and infrastructure teams have been working relentlessly to carry out the necessary repairs wherever possible and clear the debris. Damages have been reported in some areas of the Centenary Stadium, including the canopy and perimeter fence, the Malta FA Training Grounds, and ancillary facilities at the National Stadium.
