With two goals in the final ten minutes, Valletta came from behind to beat Balzan 2-1 at the National Stadium. A win which puts Danilo Doncic’s side back on track following the shock draw with Senglea in the previous league outing.

Balzan took the lead on the 29th minute when following a free kick from the left, Ivan Bozovic headed the ball in the direction of Elkin Serrano Valero whose effort was deflected by a defender past goalkeeper Henry Bonello.

Valletta equalised ten minutes from time thanks to a lucky goal as a clearance by Balzan goalkeeper Steve Sultana was blocked by Mario Fontanella with the ball ending at the back of the net.

The Citizens notched the winner on the 86th minute when off a Miguel Angel Alba corner from the right, Jonathan Caruana slotted the ball past the Balzan custodian.
