Mdina Knights maintained alive hopes of securing the play-off spot as they defeated Marsaskala 6-0 in a match from the BOV Third Division at the Sirens Stadium on Sunday.

Mark Saliba put Mdina ahead on the 11th minute and then a Ryan Sciberras hat-trick on the 25th, 37th and 38th put the Knights four goals ahead. Julien Iwueke added another one minute in the second half with Sciberras adding another on the 63rd.

In another match, a goal by Royter Degiorgio on the 17th minute handed Xghajra Tornados a narrow win over bottom-placed Mtarfa.

Zurrieq and Xghajra lead the way with 42 points, followed by Msida on 31, Dingli and Attard 29, Mdina and Kirkop 25, Ghaxaq 20, Ta’ Xbiex 16, Gharghur 9, Marsaskala 6 and Mtarfa 0.
