Valletta, Luxol, Birkirkara and Pietà secure Futsal Knock-Out semi-final spot

The Futsal Knock-Out resumed this week with Pietà Hotspurs, Luxol, Valletta and Birkirkara booking a place in the semi finals.

Valletta had the easiest Quarter-Final as they were too strong for Luxol U19 squad, beating them 17-0. Gia Nikvashvili and Rafael Rodriguez had the most of it with a hat-trick each, braces for Denis Di Maio, Andre Ciancio, Dylan Musu and Clint Farrugia together with a goal apiece for Melvin Borg, Shawn Vella and Camilo Andrez Vanegas Gomes.

Pietà Hotspurs also made it to the semi final as they managed to eliminate holders, Univesity of Malta Students Futsal Team, beating them 4-2. Karl Sciortino had a hat-trick together with Dexter O’Brien’s goal. On the other hand Daniele Degennaro and Cleaven Portelli scored for the Universitarians.

In the other Quarter Finals, Luxol won 5-4 against a resiliant Swieqi United, while Birkirkara won 9-7 against Tarxien Rainbows.

In the Malta FA Futsal League, Birkirkara and Swieqi United remained on level points in a mid-table position following a hard fought 5-5 draw. On the other hand, Valletta defeated University of Malta Students Futsal Team 6-4.

The previous week, Valletta defeated Tarxien Rainbows 6-0 while Luxol beat University of Malta 8-1. University of Malta and Tarxien were also involved in another two matches, losing to Swieqi Unietd 2-1 and Birkirkara 7-4 respectively.

In the First Division, Luxol U19 joined Swieqi United U21 on the 12-point mark after a massive 10-0 win against UM Futsal Academy.

The previous week, Luxol U19 had defeated Swieqi United U21 6-3. Luxol’s score sheet was made up of Kemo Jackson’s hat-trick, Nathan Cope’s brace and Jordan Kelly’s goal. On the otherhand Mark Muscat, Shaun Spiteri and Dylan Pace netted for Swieqi United.
