Jake Grech rescues a point for Hibernians in stoppage time

Hibernians rescued a point in a 1-1 draw with Hamrun Spartans thanks to a goal in stoppage time at the National Stadium on Friday. A draw which ensures they stay on top of the BOV Premier League table although they could end up sharing the top spot with Valletta if the Citizens beat Pietà Hotspurs on Saturday.

Although disappointed to concede the equaliser in added time, for Hamrun, this result was still a morale-boosting result as they were coming from back-to-back defeats. This draw, in fact, revives their chances of securing a spot in Europe this summer.

The Spartans took the lead on the 35th minute thanks to Kevin Tulimieri who slotted the ball past Jovicic following a Triston Caruana freekick.

However three minutes in added time, Hibernians notched the equaliser when off an assist by Tiago Adan Fonseca from the left, Jake Grech placed the ball at the back of the net from close range.
