Three-match ban for Marcelo Dias

Marcelo Dias of Hibernians was handed a three-match ban while Claudio Pani of Sliema Wanderers and Miguel Angel Alba of Valletta were suspended for one match by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Hibs coach Stefano Sanderra was also slapped with a one-match ban.

Dias will therefore skip the next three matches against Birkirkara, Qormi and Senglea and will be back for the final league match against Balzan.

Sliema could not Pani for the match against Qormi while Alba is ruled out for Valletta’s next game against Gzira.

Meanwhile in Division 1, Neil Micallef (Mqabba), Bjorn Bondin (Qrendi), Irvin Abela, Luca Casha and Clive Spiteri (Vittoriosa), Brooke Farrugia and Clayton Giordimaina (Zejtun) were all suspended for one match. Lija coach Joseph Galea was banned for two matches and Lija team manager Colin Ciantar was suspended for six matches.

Gary Caruana (Birzebbuga), Mauro Hammett (Kalkara), Joseph Fenech (Luqa), William Camilleri and Eric Sciberras (Sta. Venera) were banned for one match in Division 2 while Jamie Delia and Christian Farrugia (Attard), Daniel Cilia (Dingli), Dylan Lee Tanti (Kirkop), Dejan Cassar (Mdina), Adrian Pulis (Xghajra) and Ivan Bojovic (Zurrieq) were handed a one-match ban in Division 3. Gharghur official Jurgen Grixti was suspended for six matches.
