St. George’s were crowned champions in the BOV Second Division after defeating Fgura United 2-1 in a Championship Decider at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.

The two teams had ended their commitments on level points, two ahead of third-placed Mgarr United.

On Friday, Mattia Mentosa opened the score for St. George’s on the 13th minute and five minutes later, Gilbert Martin levelled matters. However on the 76th minute, Christian Cassar handed St. Georges victory.

Charles Azzopardi, Executive PR & Marketing at Bank of Valletta, presented the medals and trophy to the Champions.

On Sunday, Zabbar St. Patrick – who finished third from bottom in Division 2 will be facing Msida St. Joseph – who finished third in Division 3 – in the BOV Second Division Play-Off at the Luxol Stadium, kick-off at 16:00.
